While finishing up their final round of official engagements as royals in the UK earlier this month, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry decided to leave Archie behind โ much to the Queen's disappointment. But soon, she'll be reunited with great-grandson again, according to a new report.
This summer, the Sussexes allegedly plan to make another trip across the pond to visit Queen Elizabeth at her home in Scotland, Balmoral Castle, and Baby Archie will be tagging along per The Sunday Times. Last year, the couple turned down the Queen's invite citing that Archie โ who was four months old at the time โ was too young to travel.
A source confirmed the news to E!, explaining to the outlet: "Harry and Meghan accepted the Queen's invitation to spend time with her at Balmoral in Scotland this summer. They plan to take Archie with them." During their stay, the family of three will also be spending time with Archie's paternal grandparents, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, at Charles's retreat within the estate.
It's unconfirmed whether the Sussexes's visit to Balmoral will coincide with the Cambridges's annual trip, but, if so, it will be the first time Archie will see his cousins George, Charlotte, and Louis since leaving for Vancouver before the holidays The Queen is reportedly "very sad" about the lack of face time between the families, so "a Sussex trip to Balmoral this summer is being seen as a good thing all round in royal circles," an insider revealed to E! News.
With a possible relocation to Los Angeles and a trip to the UK underway, Archie's summer is already shaping up to be one for the books.
